`Superwoman/Superman` - the Best Choice?

I have recently come across a book that I had once read (actually by skimming it...) and I thought of sharing some rules of behaviour, with you, quoting from Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz ( an author, lecturer and consultant in the field of mental health etc.). Here they are:
- " If you sleep on it...make it up.
- If you wear it...hang it up.
- If you drop it...pick it up.
- If you step on it...wipe it off.
- If you open it...close it.
- If you empty it...fill it up.
- If it rings...answer it.
- If it howls....feed it.
- If it cries...love it." (The Superwoman Syndrome)
It`s interesting to see how everything works in this world, how some people stick to the above mentioned rules and follow them as if they were part of their own existence, whereas others don`t even try to think of them. These rules are meaningless to some of them. Nevertheless, they succeed into surviving without carrying them on, and they do it well. In fact, such people seem to be better than those who simply tend to do almost everything to lead a good life.
Is it okay trying to be a `superwoman\superman` and obeying these rules? Or is it better to keep a low profile by ignoring all this and yet to lead a normal life?
Perhaps my opinion about this is that one should find himself/herself somewhere in between. Doing too much can be harmful both physically and mentally and wearing this
`superwoman\superman` coat won`t be of any help as long as one gets exhausted. Less is important sometimes, and I mean it. It has always worked with me: the more I tried, the less it happened, and when I less expected, it turned out to be perfectly well.
Of course, this latter opinion of mine does`t apply in the case of waiting for those `great expectations` to show up. This is a paradox, when one simply fights harder and harder to be the best, from all points of view, and this mere fight can easily stand for `the syndrome of a superwoman/superman`...or not?
